Yesterday didn’t feature anything too interesting in the kitchen. Instead, since it was 85 degrees and sunny, with a light breeze, I decided to head outside for a hike.
That turned out to be an understatement, as the location that I’d chosen wasn’t quite as smooth as I’d anticipated ~
Although it was beautiful. I have some friends who will be out here this summer who will love this trek 🙂
Once I finished, I was totally starving, so I had the quick ‘n easy smoothie that I’d brought with me. This one is very simple to make, and the ingredients are pretty much always on hand: banana, peanut butter (would have used almond butter but had run out), dates, and nut milk. I always have fresh raw nut milk in the fridge, but it can easily be made with soy, almond, rice, oat, etc milks from the store.
It was delicious!
Today has also been another non-kitchen day for the most part. I’ve felt the stirrings of a cold coming on, so I made a great cold-busting juice with tons of vitamin C, ginger and lemon to keep everything away:
Carrot, orange, ginger and lemon….
It was so good that I made it twice today 🙂
