As you can see, I’m not so creative in naming my creations :-). Today was a somewhat cool and overcast day, so I wanted to make a smoothie to give me some energy and pep… the secret weapons: a serrano pepper and fresh mint. And let me tell you, it did the job. LOTS of heat from the pepper, tempered with the cooling mint. What a combination of flavors…..
- 2 oranges, peeled
- 2 bananas
- 1 red serrano pepper (including the seeds)
- 3 romaine leaves
- 1 sprig of mint (about 10 leaves)
- 1 large Tablespoon tahini
- 2 cups water
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend well. If you want less heat, you can seed the pepper first, or use half. This makes alot, about 5 cups.
Wow…what a unique combo. Who’d of thought? I think your recipe names are good. Amazing how much green color showed up with just the mint and romaine. Are you growing your own mint?
I like the photo. The glass is nicely arranged within the green frame, creating a stable focus by the opposing yet harmoniously colored axes.
And the combination of orange and banana is one of ma favorites, too, delicious, refreshing, inexpensive and always available. A great base for green smoothies.
I will have to try Your spices, they are making me curious.
